The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie two Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers into the community.
SASSA will be rendering providers such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency reported it truly is alarmed about the higher number of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The goal of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a superior quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no completely functional office sassa status focused on service the area on a regular basis. The service point here produced for intervention encounters a large influx of possible beneficiaries, that makes it challenging to the office to attend to all people who click here take a look at a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra sources to allow the servicing of all consumers and raise use of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
